About Me
Darcy Fowler is a Los Angeles-based writer and producer, originally from the Salem, Massachusetts area. She is currently co-writing the sequel to Spyglass's horror-comedy hit Heart Eyes, set to premiere in theaters on February 11, 2028, and she co-created and co-showran FX/Hulu's animated horror-comedy Little Demon, alongside long time collaborators Seth Kirschner and Kieran Valla. The tv series starred Danny DeVito, Lucy DeVito, and Aubrey Plaza, with Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty, Community) as executive producer. The Guardian called the series "Rick and Morty meets The Simpsons at its peak."
Alongside Heart Eyes, she currently has projects in development with Toluca Pictures (The Handmaid's Tale, Wednesday), Tornante (BoJack Horseman), Dakota Johnson's TeaTime Pictures (Cha Cha Real Smooth) and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Robot Chicken). Over the years Darcy has sold and developed projects with networks including AMC, Netflix, Comedy Central, and TBS, as well as with studios such as Sony, Red Hour (Severance), and Jersey Films 2nd Avenue. She recently adapted Nick Drnaso's acclaimed graphic novel Beverly into a TV series with Picturestart (Theater Camp), and wrote on the final, unaired season of Netflix's award-winning series Glow.
Outside of screenwriting, Darcy co-produces Playlist with writer and musician Heather Robb, a Los Angeles event that spotlights emerging writers, musicians, actors, and directors. A graduate of Syracuse University, Darcy is also a proud alum of Youngblood, Ensemble Studio Theatre's OBIE-winning collective of early-career playwrights.
Darcy began leading these workshops in 2023, during the writers strike, expecting them to be temporary. Instead, working with other writers turned out to be one of the best things she's ever done. She has since taught more than 250 writers around the world, from the U.S. to Iceland, Nigeria, the U.K., New Zealand, Tokyo and beyond. What fulfills Darcy most is supporting and nurturing other artists. She built this course to help writers develop their TV and film projects from a place of joy and empowerment.
